"I
thought of her like a diamond,
a big orange diamond. And if you look at all the facets of the
diamond ...with every facet you
look at, she was greater."
~ Sir Paul McCartney

One by one her photos flash before me, subtle shades of black-and-white dazzle my eyes with the colors of life.
Parading images of people, animals, objects and landscapes focus my attention, documenting times that have passed.
My eyes become her eyes.
Gazing upon these wondrous images,
moments frozen in time,
I'm awed by these miracles of light,
captured with a skillful camera click.
My eyes become her eyes.
Artistic visions take me to places I've never seen.
Peering as a voyeur through the photographic window,
I see what she sees,
the essence of life, radiating deep from within her soul.
My eyes become her eyes.
On a warm spring day while the cactus bloomed,
her camera clicked no more.
As she embarked upon her final journey,
I sought comfort in a photo of a lone horse,
enthralled by a stone.
For a peaceful moment I felt her presence,
as my eyes became her eyes once more.
